Here are the states that are\u00a0increasing the minimum wage in 2018<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  1. Alaska: $9.84 (up from $9.80)<\/li>\n
  2. Arizona: $10.50 (up from $10.00)<\/li>\n
  3. California: $11.00 (up from $10.50)<\/li>\n
  4. Colorado: $10.20 (up from $9.30)<\/li>\n
  5. Florida: $8.25 (up from $8.10)<\/li>\n
  6. Hawaii: $10.10 (up from $9.25)<\/li>\n
  7. Maine: $10.00 (up from $9.00)<\/li>\n
  8. Maryland: $10.10 (up from $9.25)<\/li>\n
  9. Michigan: $9.25 (up from $8.90)<\/li>\n
  10. Minnesota: $9.65 (up from $9.50)<\/li>\n
  11. Missouri: $7.85 (up from $7.70)<\/li>\n
  12. Montana: $8.30 (up from $8.15)<\/li>\n
  13. New Jersey: $8.60 (up from $8.44)<\/li>\n
  14. New York: $11.10 for most of the state, although in Long Island and Westchester Counties the rate is $10.00 (up from $9.70)<\/li>\n
  15. Ohio: $8.30 (up from $8.15)<\/li>\n
  16. Rhode Island: $10.10 (up from $9.60)<\/li>\n
  17. Vermont: $10.50 (up from $10), and<\/li>\n
  18. Washington: $11.50 (up from $11).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    18.5<\/strong> \u00a0Washington DC\u2019s minimum wage will also increase to $12.50, a one-dollar increase from the current $11.50 rate.<\/p>\n

    In addition to state minimum wage hikes many cities and municipalities will increase their minimum wage rate \u2014 (Note: Most increases will not take effect until July 1)<\/p>\n

    Employers in states like New York and California will have the challenge of keeping tracking of several different wage rates depending on where the employee is located.<\/p>\n
